Police have been given extra time for questioning by magistrates.
A 36-year-old woman and man, aged 40, are being held following the death of Daisy Myring, of Brownhills.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of murder after the pensioner died in hospital of serious head injuries.
Detectives said forensic searches have been carried out at a number of other homes as part of the investigation, including one in Brownhills Road, Norton Canes.
Police are also keen to play down suggestions there was a burglary at the house before she died.
Mrs Myring was found collapsed at her home in Albion Road at around 7.10am on Tuesday.
She was taken to hospital and died shortly afterwards.
A post mortem revealed she died as a result of a blow to the head and body.
Neighbours said she lived alone and was registered blind.
