A post mortem on the body of Daisy Myring has revealed the pensioner, of Brownhills, died as a result of a trauma to the head and body.
A 36-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder.
They were today helping police with inquiries. Mrs Myring was found with a fatal head injury at her home in Albion Road at around 7.10am yesterday and was taken to hospital where she later died.
Neighbours said she lived on her own and was registered blind.
A police cordon remained outside the house today as investigations continue and patrols have been stepped up in the area in a bid to reassure residents.
Mrs Myring had lived at the address for more than 20 years. Anyone with information should call 0345 113 5000.
