A notorious yob who was part of a gang that terrorised residents in Wolverhampton has been locked up for almost a year for breaching his Asbo order for the eighth time.
Uninsured and unlicensed driver Ryan White, aged 18, was less than 12 months into a three-year ban from entering Low Hill, Bushbury and The Scotlands when he took a car and drove it dangerously.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how White overtook several vehicles in Whitgreave Avenue, Low Hill, in heavy school traffic and ignored police appeals to pull over before dumping the car nearby.
The drama, on January 21, was White's eighth breach of his Asbo, which was extended by magistrates in April last year for his role in a spate of offences as part of the notorious Low Hill Youth gang.
Past crimes include being involved in throwing a brick through the window of a moving car, hitting a woman driver in the chest, and attacking a girl as others filmed it on their phones.
White, of Oxley Moor Road, pleaded guilty yesterday to five charges of driving a vehicle without authority, dangerous driving, breaching an Asbo, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
He was handed an 11-month custodial sentence by Recorder Mr Nigel Daly who told him: "You don't seem to be able to do what you are told. You were given an Abso and you keep breaching it."
A month of White's sentence was for breaching a conditional discharge for failing to attend a drug assessment in October.
He was also been banned from driving for two years and will have to pass an extended test before he can get a full licence. Mrs Paula Bicknall, defending, said: "It was dangerous. He's admitted that. But it is his first serious offence.
"All the previous breaches have been for associating with other people who are also subject to orders, or having entered an area he was prohibited from entering."She said there had been no suggestion of intimidation or threats, and added that his mother had recently undergone open heart surgery.
