Travellers move on to Tipton swimming baths site

Dozens of travellers have moved on to the site where a new £8.1 million swimming complex will be built.

Sandwell Council is preparing to take legal action to move on the 15 caravans which moved onto the land, off Alexandra Road in Tipton.

Communities chief Councillor Derek Rowley said: "We understand the gipsies may have moved on to the land after being evicted from a site in Dudley.

"If they do anything illegal while they are on the site then the police will get involved but otherwise it is up to us to take enforcement action."
