Turning back time in pursuit of a perfect den

Countryside experts have been sharing their top den building tips at a special session on Brownhills Common.

The Family Den Building event aimed to teach people how to build a shelter from the natural materials found in the borough's woodland.

Nige Curnow, Walsall Council senior countryside ranger, said: "This is the stuff adventures are made of.

"I'm sure parents will have fond memories of their childhood playtimes spent making a den and now their children can enjoy the same experience"
