Bilston petrol station raided

Two robbers stole a large amount of money in a raid on a petrol station in Bilston today.

A member of staff was injured during the robbery at the Total service station on Millfields Road, Springvale.

The offenders, who are believed to have been carrying handguns, threatened staff and made off with a large amount of cash.

Police say a worker in his 30s suffered minor head injuries during the robbery, which happened at around 9.30am, and was given precautionary treatment.

A man was arrested nearby on suspicion of robbery and remained in custody this afternoon. The scene stayed cordoned off.
