A Staffordshire car dealership has shut down resulting in 15 job losses.

The Citroen dealership, in Highfields Road, Chasetown, shut its doors for the last time on Thursday after about 15 years in business.

The dealership, known locally as Spot Garage, employed 14 full-time workers and one part-time member of staff.

Tim Jones, landlord of The Uxbridge Arms, in Church Street, which is on the opposite side of the roundabout to the Citroen garage, said he thought a garage of some form had been on the site since the 1920s or 1930s.

Mr Jones said the dealership was a Leyland garage years ago and was then a Fiat outlet, before becoming Citroen. By yesterday morning, the showroom had been completely cleared out.

Citroen was unavailable for comment.
