A man charged with the attempted murder of stabbed schoolgirl Chloe West was today committed to Wolverhampton Crown Court.
Samuel Gayzer-Tomlinson, a teacher's son, arrived at the court shortly after 10.35am in a police car, and was escorted by two officers into the building through the back door. He was hidden with a shawl.
The 18-year-old, of Turls Hill Road, Sedgley, appeared before Dudley Magistrates with a heavily-bandaged hand. He spoke only to confirm his name and details before being remanded in custody.
Gayzer-Tomlinson who was wearing black trousers, shirt and pumps, will appear before the crown court for a plea and directions hearing on June 28.
He was due to appear yesterday but his hearing was delayed after magistrates were told he had been admitted to hospital.
He faces charges of attempted murder, wounding another pupil, possession of an offensive weapon, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.
He was arrested by police following an attack near Ridgewood High School, Wollaston, Stourbridge, last week.
An order preventing Chloe from being named after an application by prosecution and defence lawyers was overturned following objections from members of the Press.
