Thirteen tips in Staffordshire are to open for longer from Sunday.

The move, which will see them open every day, is to coincide with the start of British Summer Time.

The Staffordshire County Council household waste recycling centres will be open from 9am-6pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-5pm on Saturdays and Sundays from tomorrow.

The facility on Beacon Road in Stone will continue to open from 9am-5pm every day. In the past few months tips have also closed at 4.30pm because of the dark evenings.

The changes affect tips on the Lichfield Road site in Cannock, the Trent Valley Road site in Lichfield, the Station Road site in Rugeley, the St Albans Road centre in Stafford, Pendeford Mill Lane in Bilbrook, Ring Road in Burntwood, Botterham Lane in Wombourne and Pennycroft Lane, Uttoxeter.

Two tips in Wolverhampton will also extend their hours. Both waste centres, at Anchor Lane, Lanesfield, and Shaw Road, Bushbury, will be open seven days a week between April 4 and the end of September.
