Controversial comedian Jim Davidson is pulling the plug on his first play, which was due to be performed in Wolverhampton.
The show, Stand Up and Be Counted, is being axed because of poor ticket sales.
It is the 57-year-old's first self-penned play, which he stars in himself as ageing comedian Eddie Pierce.
The former Generation Game and Big Break host visited Wolverhampton's Grand Theatre last month to promote the show.
But he today cancelled all performances at the venue, which had been scheduled from April 4 to 9 and would have been the final leg of the UK tour.
He has also cancelled performances at the Grand Theatre in Swansea.
He said: "After a great deal of soul-searching I have come to the difficult decision that I have no choice but to draw a close to the current production of my first play, Stand Up And Be Counted.
"Despite a great audience response, the current economic climate has unfortunately made it impossible to make the 'numbers' work out," he added.
