Rita Carter was in her home in Brooklands Parade, East Park last night, when the Peugeot smashed into her brother Glyn Morgan's car before overturning.

The crash smashed plant pots, destroyed a door and broke part of a fence at the property in Brooklands Parade, East Park, last night.

Mrs Carter, aged 59, said today: "My brother usually goes out at 8.50pm to pick up his wife from bingo. It was only a matter of a minute that we were held back, otherwise he would have been sitting in the car."

A man in his 20s was helping police with inquiries.

Police spokeswoman Sarah Astbury said the man walked into Wednesfield police station at around 10.30pm last night and has not been arrested.
