Months of misery for motorists on the M6 ended as 50mph speed limits were lifted.
Stretches between junctions 8 at Great Barr and 10 for Walsall have returned to normal after work to open up the hard shoulder to traffic and impose variable speed limits.
Work has taken place on the £150 million scheme since last February and drivers had to use narrow lanes at speeds of 50mph or less.
The scheme will launch in the spring.
