A man died after being hit by a train in the Black Country causing more than an hour-and-a-half of disruptions to rail services.

A man died after being hit by a train in the Black Country - causing more than an hour-and-a-half of disruptions to rail services.

It happened at Dudley Port rail station in Tipton at just before 4.10pm yesterday on the route between Birmingham and Wolverhampton.

Police and paramedics were called but the man was confirmed dead at the scene.

British Transport Police confirmed the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Tickets were accepted on National Express West Midlands until trains were able to run normally again by 6pm.
