Paul Sadlier of Sadlier's Coffee Lounge has been practicing latte art for several years and can now produce a range of shapes on the top of a coffee.
Since it opened five years ago Sadliers has been recognised twice by the Beverage Service Association as the top coffee house in the country.
In August the shop moved to its present site on Upper Green in Tettenhall from its previous address in the arcade across the road.
Paul Sadlier said: "Latte art is one of those things that sets you apart from the norm.
"If you can produce latte art on a coffee it shows you are taking it seriously and want to give the best to the customer."
Paul said that it takes a lot of practice to get it right and the texture and temperature of the milk have to be correct to get the desired shapes.
"When you start you have little squiggles and you slowly improve - you can't do it straight away, you have to put in a lot of practice." he said.
"Customers are always surprised and don't know how I do it, even though I will have produced the pattern in front of them."
Paul opened the shop in 2005 and says it has been a huge success.
"I love coffee and my wife has always been into the food and we thought a combination of those would be good, and it has worked very well," he said.
"Our first shop was very successful, but a shade too small for our needs, but in it we built a good loyal customer base and had success in regional and national competitions that recognized us as a serious provider of quality beverages and food."
