Troubled Black Country music club JB's was today dealt a fresh blow as a potential buyer dropped out at the final stage.

In an e-mail to administrators he admitted he could no longer continue with the bid for the rock venue in Castle Hill, Dudley.

Administrators were in advanced negotiations with the unnamed party for weeks, and hoped to sign a deal this month but today the club was empty after a last bash to use up stock.

John Travers, of Stourbridge-based insolvency practitioners John D. Travers & Co, said: "Our potential purchaser has advised me that he cannot proceed at the present time because of unexpected personal circumstances beyond his control."

He will continue discussions with various stakeholders.
