He is proud to boast of his Black Country roots - and has now become the star of his very own You Tube video.

'Les The Yam Yam' - real name Lesley Richards from Blackheath - is a customer of Cradley Heath company TeeT Shirts. He regularly visits them for a "cuppa tay and a bit of banter".

TeeT Shirts, which has invented a Black Country Alphabet and the Black Country Christmas Song, is behind the video.

Owner of the Reddal Hill Road store, Warren John McCabe-Smith, aged 31, said: "Due to the popularity of our Black Country Alphabet and Christmas Songs people have been visiting our website promoting Black Country culture from all over the world, with our Black Country gifts sent as far away as Australia and Canada.

"Recently we've noticed a huge increase of foreigners visiting our Black Country shop in Cradley Heath from all over the world including Canada, USA, New Zealand and Australia, talking about our songs and enjoying our culture.

"The majority of folk that visit are ex-pats that migrated years ago and yet still have a fond love of the Black Country with many a story to tell.

"Many of the visitors who come to the shop like to stop, have a yarn about life in the Black Country and what it means to them, so we decided to make a little video using one of our customers and tell a short story about a day in the life of a Black Country bloke."

The video features 68-year-old Lesley doing everyday things including having a pint and a packet of pork scratchings at The Holly Bush pub and enjoying a pie at Ivans Fish and Chips.

He even tells viewers: "I married a wench and I'm proud of it."
