Cold weather affects Birmingham Airport

Eight flights were cancelled at Birmingham Airport today due to poor weather conditions abroad.

Eight flights were cancelled at Birmingham Airport today due to poor weather conditions abroad.

The flights included three departures - a Bmibaby flight from Birmingham to Amsterdam due to leave at 6.45am and a Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt which had been due to leave at 9.45am today.

The Lufthansa flight due to depart for Munich at 11.15am was also cancelled.

Five incoming flights were also grounded. They included a Bmibaby flight from Belfast due in at 9.45am and a second Bmibaby service from Amsterdam due in at 10.05am.

A Lufthansa arrival due in from Munich at 10.30am was cancelled while a FlyBe arrival from Frankfurt due in at 12.05pm was also cancelled, along with a FlyBe service from Belfast scheduled to land at 1.20pm.
