Britain's Got Talent finalist Connie Talbot is set to perform in front of 400 million viewers at China's New Year celebrations.

The announcement comes after the singer from Streetly recently returned from Seoul, in South Korea, where she performed in front of the world's leaders including Barack Obama and David Cameron at the G20 summit.

Next February the 10-year-old will sing in China's new year celebrations.

Father Gavin, aged 43, said: "It's such an honour to be invited. She's really excited."

He added she was still deciding what to sing.

Connie was just six when she won the nation's hearts with her gap-toothed rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

The Blackwood Primary pupil also topped the Billboard Hot singles chart in the US during 2008.
