Two men were killed and another two seriously injured when their car smashed into two stationary vehicles.

The driver of the Subaru Impreza and a passenger are believed to be the victims of the accident which happened in West Bromwich Road, Delves, shortly before 9pm last night.

Two other male passengers suffered serious injuries in the accident, which happened between the junctions of Brockhurst Crescent and Fullbrook Road.

West Midlands Police said one of the men, aged 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three others, aged between 17 and 18, were taken to hospital by ambulance. An 18-year-old died shortly after arrival. The two other men remain critically ill in hospital.

All four are from the Walsall area.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received 17 emergency 999 calls about the incident.

Four ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an incident support officer and a doctor were sent to the scene.
