Man charged over Bilston murder

A man has been charged with murder and a gun seized after a fatal shooting in Bilston.

Jahmayne Mead, aged 23, from Leicester, was appearing before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today accused of killing Lee Douglas.

The 31-year-old was found with multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head, at a house on the corner of Arthur Street and Wellington Road.

Police today said they had recovered a firearm believed to have been used during last Thursday's killing.

A mobile police incident support unit remains at the scene, with forensic work expected to continue for some time.
