The lorry belonging to a driver found dead at the roadside in the Black Country has been found miles away with its load of televisions missing, police revealed this afternoon.

The empty lorry was found dumped on Vectra Industrial Estate in Hill Top, West Bromwich – three hours after its driver's body was discovered at 7am on Monday in Vale Road, Darby End, Netherton.

DCI Steve Bimson from West Midlands Police said today: "We believe that unknown persons have robbed the vehicle in another location and then driven the lorry to this trading estate."

He said it was not known how the 57-year-old Polish lorry driver had died or how he came to be in Netherton.
