Managing director Roy Taylor said: "We are steel profilers serving a number of industries, from the railway industry to the metal industry to oil and gas and automotive, a whole range of different things.
"We are the largest in the UK in terms of size and employ around 150 people across five different sites."
As well as serving the industrial sector, Malthouse Engineering has created a number of bespoke pieces that Black Country residents will recognise. These include the 12ft high, 36ft long Welcome To Sandwell sign which was commissioned by Sandwell Council and sits on Oldbury's Birchley Island, near to Junction 2 of the M5, as well as the Flying Anvils in Merry Hill Shopping Centre.
Mr Taylor added: "We are an old established metal-bashing company, but we are still young enough to have innovative ideas in areas of technology, computerisation and the environment."
The manufacturing award is sponsored by Manufacturing Advisory Service — West Midlands (MAS-WM), which champions local businesses.
MAS-WM specialist manufacturing advisor Mike Paxton said: "Malthouse's creativity and ingenuity in increasing productivity and improving their process capabilities is testament to the leadership of Roy Taylor and his drive to continually improve this traditional Black Country business."
