Improvements costing £100,000 are being carried out at West Midland Safari Park - including work to cut down queuing times at the entrance.

They are the latest in a series of developments planned at the attraction in Bewdley and proposals have already been submitted to Wyre Forest District Council.

An office complex will be revamped and extended and ticket booths altered to speed up admission times.

The office block extension will measure around 50sq ft, and include meeting and conference rooms to be used by administrative staff at the park.

It will be added to the existing office block, near to the park's entrance, which has stood since the attraction first opened in 1973 and will be improved as part of the scheme

Bosses said the change was vital as the attraction has "outgrown" the original office.

Head Keeper Bob Lawrence said despite the current financial climate it was vital to still look forward with improvements.
