Pasta and tuna - but no rats - were on the menu at Dudley's Merry Hill Shopping Centre today when TV chef Gino D'Acampo popped in to do two live cooking demonstrations.

The star, winner of last year's I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, spent the day at the centre to help celebrate the first anniversary of its Eat Central restaurant complex.

Luckily for all rats were not included, after he controversially cooked one for contestants on the TV show.

"My aim is for everyone to go home and think 'Hey he cooked that right there on stage, I can do that too', and then go out and buy the ingredients for themselves," said the regular on Ready Steady Cook.

"I never have anything pre-prepared".

His recipes included Linguine with basil pesto and tuna steak with gremolata which is made with parsley, capers, garlic and lemon zest.

"I love cooking pasta. You can do so much with it and it's so easy to prepare," he added.
