A subway in a Staffordshire town centre was cordoned off today as police probed "an incident".
Police tape was put up at either end of the passage underneath Mill Street, Cannock, which links the town centre with the Morrisons supermarket.
Uniformed officers and a forensics team were at the scene from dawn this morning, carrying out searches of the area.
Police confirmed they were investigating an incident, but refused to reveal any further details.
The subway is expected to be cordoned for several hours today while investigations continue.
Officers said they expected more details would be released later today.
