Police seal off Bilston street

Police sealed off part of a road after an alleged serious assault on a 20-year-old woman.

A police tent was in Cemetery Street, Bilston, as officers scoured the scene after an attack was reported on Friday.

She said it happened on Wednesday night but did not suffer any serious injuries. She was interviewed by detectives over the weekend.

Brigg Ford, of West Midlands Police said: "The woman reported the incident at Bilston Street police station on Friday night. The road was sealed off to preserve the scene for examination and the woman was interviewed on Saturday."

He appealed for anyone with information about the assault, who may have been in the area and saw the attack or saw people behaving suspiciously to contact police.
