It's a perfect 10 for Katie Williams

Schoolgirl Katie Williams is celebrating a perfect 10 this weekend.

Born on October 10, the youngster will mark her 10th birthday tomorrow on what will be 10/10/10.

She was even born at 10am, and if that was not enough, she lives at number 10 with her family in Aldridge.

The pupil at Cooper and Jordan Primary School in Aldridge said she is looking forward to the celebration.

"It is really strange, but it makes me think that the number 10 must be lucky for me," she said.

"I love playing netball but we don't have numbers so I can't get a number 10 top."

Katie lives with her mother Louise, aged 39, a clerical assistant at Colin Lee Opticians, and dad, Simon, aged 40, who works as a tool maker, engineering machine parts which put cars together.

Louise said: "It is a really bizarre coincidence, especially as I had my other daughter Hannah, who is now 13 on September 9, the ninth of the ninth.

"When I was in labour someone asked me about having the next one on 11/11.

"I said "never again".

"I really hope 10 is lucky for her. I'm sure that when she is older she will use it when playing the lottery."

Katie and a group of friends are planning a "little makeover" where they get pampered and dress up in make-up and party dresses for the afternoon.

Louise said: "She has had her heart set on it since going to a similar party last year.

"I had suggested ten-pin bowling, but it wasn't to be."

Tomorrow churches and register offices across the Midlands are holding weddings on a Sunday for the first time following requests from some couples who hope the date 10/10/10 will bring them an extra bit of luck.

It's all about the perfect 10 for brides and grooms, who have gone to great lengths to secure what has been described as the most coveted date on the nuptial calendar this year.

There was a similar rise in weddings on July 7, 2007. Superstitious fiancees went out of their way to tie the knot on 07/07/07.
