Four pensioners had to be evacuated from their rooms at a Midland nursing home after an electrical fault started a fire in the kitchen today.
Fire crews were called to deal with the blaze at Astley Hall Nursing Home, in Church Lane, Astley, near Stourport, at 12.40am.
Paramedics helped move one bedridden woman from her room while three other patients were able to walk to safety.
Only rooms nearest to the kitchen were affected by smoke and fumes, fire crews said.
