Murder suspect arrested after Brownhills death fall

A woman was arrested by police on suspicion of murder today following the death of a man who fell from a 17-storey Midlands tower block.

A woman was arrested by police on suspicion of murder today following the death of a man who fell from a 17-storey Midlands tower block.

Police were called at 1am to Humphries House in Brownhills, where they found a 35-year-old man dead outside the block in Lindon Drive.

It is believed the man fell from near the top of the 1960s-built tower block, which is around 150-feet tall and can be seen from around Brownhills.

Police are treating the death as suspicious while they try to establish how the man fell.

West Midlands Police spokeswoman Keiley Gartland said: "We were called at 1am to Humphries House on Lindon Drive in Brownhills where the body of a 35-year-old man was found outside the flats.

"An investigation was immediately launched with detectives from the force CID.

"A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder."

The woman remains in police custody and was expected to be questioned by officers today.

The flats at Humphries House remained sealed off by police this morning and the corden was expected to remain in place today while inquiries at the flats continue.

Residents in the area were today stunned by news of the death with police making door-to-door inquiries.
