She was born the year George V became king and lived through two World Wars.
Centenarian Evelyn Turner from Wolverhampton toasted her 100th birthday with a party organised by family and staff at Wellesley House Nursing Home.
Mrs Turner, who moved into the Penn Road home just under two years ago, was born in Bilston and worked at the town's Edge Shoe Factory before working for the General Electric Company in Birmingham.
One of her four children, Ann, said: "Mum had a great day. She also had a card from the Queen.
"That was very special for her."
Mrs Turner, who had married Tom in 1937, also has nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
