Black Country marathon runner "Blind" Dave Heeley today said he will try to run and cycle the 1,000 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End in 10 days.
The 52-year-old of Oak Road, West Bromwich, hit the headlines worldwide in 2008 when he ran seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.
Now he plans to run and cycle 100 miles a day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support to mark the 100th anniversary of Macmillan and after losing family members to the disease.
He said he would like to dedicatehis fundraiser entitled "Blind Dave's Top 2 Toe Epic Fundraiser", to the charity.
He plans to start each day with a 26-mile run - cycling the remaining 74 on a tandem. He hopes to raise £100,000 for the charity.
The journey will start on August 10 next year - the birthday of Douglas Macmillan, who founded the charity.
