Temporary classrooms are set to be installed at a Wolverhampton school left badly damaged in an arson attack.
It also emerged today that years of work has been lost following the blaze at Elston Hall Primary School in Stafford Road, Fordhouses, on Monday night.
Four classrooms, three offices and the library have all been affected by water and smoke damage, while flames destroyed part of the roof.
An 11-year-old boy arrested yesterday on suspicion of arson has been bailed until September.
Marc Webb, the council's sites and buildings manager, said today: "The fire damage was principally contained to the roof, however, there is a great deal of water damage to the front left of the school.
"Maintenance work taking place over the summer has had to be put on hold.
"We had agreed a later reopening date for the school of September 6 as a result of this work, and at this stage we are anticipating the school will reopen as planned, although it is likely temporary accommodation for pupils will be provided."
