A five-ton mound of rubbish has been dumped outside a Netherton factory by a fly-tipper who emptied a lorry onto the car park in daylight.

Shocked workers at HBS Foods in Halesowen Road, Netherton, Dudley, arrived at work this morning to find the massive pile of garden and household waste blocking the entrance to the car park.

The firm's CCTV cameras caught the lorry driver emptying a 40ft skip onto the site at around 7.30pm yesterday.

Owner Graham Hopcroft said he was "amazed" by what had happened.

He added: "It looks like someone had been renovating a house as there is a mixture of rubble, household and garden waste. Why someone decided to dump it here I don't know."

The factory was today beginning to clear up the rubbish so that their own lorries could get onto the site. Mr Hopcroft said he had reported it to the police and would be passing on the CCTV pictures.

Police today confirmed they were investigating the incident.
