A music venue in Wolverhampton city centre will open until 4am seven days-a-week, under new plans to extend opening hours for clubbers.

The Slade Rooms, which houses the Little Civic music hall in Broad Street, currently has a licence to open until 1am.

But bosses want to extend the opening hours to allow it more flexibility and so it can host popular Cheeky Monkey and Blast Off club nights when the Civic Hall, in North Street, is booked up with other gigs.

Mark Blackstock, Civic Halls general manager said: "Increasingly, we are getting inquiries from people wanting to use our halls at weekends and for numerous consecutive days.

"For example, for The Grand Slam Of Darts and Methodist Conferences."
