A telephone exchange and post office were targeted in a suspected arson attack.

Ten firefighters fought a number of blazes started in the three-storey building in John Street, Willenhall, which houses both businesses, at 9.45pm last night.

It was feared workers may have been inside but a search of the premises found no one. The building is home to equipment which connects homes and businesses to national networks.

No phone lines were lost.
