The Wordsley School Business and Enterprise and Music College, in Brierley Hill Road, has received the thumbs-up from Ofsted following a successful inspection over two days last month.
More than 700 pupils are taught at the school which was said to be "rapidly improving" by inspectors.
In a report to staff, Ofsted inspector Michelle Parker said: "Parents and carers and students are overwhelmingly positive and justly proud of their school.
"The headteacher's vision, together with all staff's constant striving for improvement and success, drive the good work of the school."
Praise was also given to pupils' behaviour.
It was called "outstanding" by the inspectors when they visited on June 15 and 16.
They say staff are "exceptional in raising aspirations and supporting and helping all students to achieve their potential".
Headteacher Mike Lambert said: "The entire report is a celebration of what can be achieved when all within a school community work together with a deep-felt conviction that we can make a difference to our young people, so that they can pursue their dreams.
"This is a belting report and we can go forward with confidence.
"This will ensure we become universally accepted as an outstanding school."
