The victim, believed to be a forklift truck driver, was killed when a lorry reversed over him at Mapei UK Ltd in Halesowen.
Police said the 42-year-old suffered fatal injuries at the site, which is on the Coombes Wood Business Park in Steelpark Road.
Chief Inspector Mark Bramwell, at Brierley Hill police station, confirmed officers were called to the premises around 2.24pm yesterday afternoon. He said police were not treating the death as suspicious.
The Health and Safety Executive has confirmed it is investigating the accident.
The factory, which makes products for the building trade, was open today but no one was available for comment.
Police today said the man's family had been informed and were being supported by a family liaison officer.
Preliminary police inquiries have revealed no suspicious circumstances but a report is being prepared for the coroner.
