A car smashed into the garage of a Sandwell home following a two car crash which saw another driver have to be cut free from his vehicle.

Another car ended up in the front garden of the house, owned by a driving instructor in Pennyroyal Close on the Yew Tree Estate, following the smash.

The driver of the second car was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free by emergency services, following the drama at 1.50pm yesterday.

Father-of-four Amarjit Singh Sohal, aged 44, a driving instructor, lives at the house and was working nearby when he received a phone call from his daughter, Parmajit, 22, to tell him of the accident, which damaged the garage door and brickwork on the house.

He said: "I came back to find a car embedded in my garage. I am still upset about it now."

Fire crews from West Bromwich and Walsall were called out to the crash, cutting the man from the second car who was taken to Sandwell General Hospital.

The driver of the Ford Focus that hit the garage suffered minor injuries.
