The new Miss Staffordshire enjoyed a taste of history when she stepped out in style for a food festival in the county.

Yasmin Moghaddam, aged 21, of Lichfield, is encouraging people to have a healthy diet and she voluntarily took part in a Food Through the Ages event at Stafford Castle at the weekend to spread the message. Yasmin won the Miss Staffordshire title in the final at Uttoxeter Racecourse in April.

The conceptual artist and supply teacher will be bidding to win the Miss England title in Birmingham on August 31 and September 1.

Yasmin, who is also a promotions model, is a vegetarian and firm believer in healthy eating.

Yasmin, who is half Iranian and half Spanish, puts her good complexion down to drinking aloe vera drinks.

She studied fine art at Staffordshire University last year. She works as a supply teaching assistant at The Meadows School, Springfield Road, Leek.
