A two-car collision caused rush hour delays on one of Wolverhampton's busiest roads.
Two people were treated for minor injuries following the smash at around 4.50pm yesterday in Chapel Ash, close to the junction with Tettenhall Road and Compton Road.
Long tailbacks built up through to Ring Road St Andrew's and into the city centre as police closed part of Tettenhall Road while the mangled Ford Mondeo and Peugeot 307 were recovered.
A six-year-old boy was treated for seatbelt injuries at New Cross Hospital, while another person was treated for high blood pressure. Retired council worker Steve Martin, who lives in nearby Vauxhall, said: "The build up of traffic made it difficult for people to cross the road.
"There was a great deal of confusion and a lot of people trying to funnel into one channel.
"But as far as I could tell, traffic was still moving along Compton Road and Merridale Road."
The scene was cleared by around 5.45pm.
