A bail application is due to be put before the Greek courts in a bid to secure the release of a Black Country man accused of killing his girlfriend.

The move was today described as a "glimmer of light" for Luke Walker, aged 22, who has been charged with murdering his girlfriend of three years, Chelsea Hyndman, aged 21.

Meanwhile Walker's family and friends staged two charity events over the weekend to raise funds for legal costs.

His cousin Daniella organised a sponsored walk from the Dock and Iron pub, in Delph Road, Brierley Hill, to the Power League football grounds in Park Lane, Halesowen, while another cousin Lee Holmes organised a five-a-side football tournament.
