Investigations have been launched into the tragedies at Coseley and Lichfield, both of which are both being classed as "non-suspicious".
The first involved a woman who was said to have jumped onto the track at Lichfield Trent Valley shortly before 2pm yesterday. Trains between Lichfield Trent Valley and Tamworth were disrupted.
Later a man was killed at Coseley. Fire crews and officers from West Midlands Police and British Transport Police were called to deal with the incident at 6.30pm.
The dead man has not yet been identified. Police says inquiries into the circumstances of the incident are continuing and a report is being prepared to send to the coronor's office.
