Here is a sneak peak inside the new £2.2 million Wednesfield Library, ahead of its grand opening next week.
Finishing touches are now being put to the contemporary library, which is already one of Wolverhampton's most recognisable landmarks with striking wooden-panelled front tower and floor-to-ceiling glass panel.
Staff have already transferred from the old Church Street library and have been working hard to make sure the new library is ready to welcome its first visitors.
Books line the shelves waiting to be checked out, while computers are in place for the public to use free of charge.
A colourful area for young bookworms has also been created.
Branch librarian Carol Howarth said: "It was sad to close the old library but we are all excited about the fantastic new one. We can't wait to see what people think of it. "The new library is not only bigger, giving us more space for activities for children especially during the school holidays, but also has an increased number of PCs for people to use free of charge."
A community centre will be based on the first floor of the Well Lane building when the doors open on Tuesday. The second floor will be home to the local neighbourhood partnership.
The building in Well Lane has been funded jointly by Wolverhampton City Council and Lottery cash. It will open at 10am on Tuesday but normal opening days will be Monday to Saturday and open until 7pm on Mondays and Thursdays.
