More than 40 police officers swooped on homes in the Black Country today in a drugs crackdown that uncovered a £160,000 cannabis factory.

Three people were arrested in the dawn raids across five homes in Cradley Heath.

Officers discovered the cannabis factory in Delingpole Walk, which included 20 packs of the Class B drugs harvested and ready to hit the streets.

The drugs were being grown in an average residential house, which had been transformed into a high-tech growing room.

Officers raided properties Bearmore Road and Primrose Close after sharp-eyed members of the public highlighted the properties as possible drug dens.
