There were a few astonished looks from John Jones's friends and relatives when he delivered his Christmas cards last year.

This is because the 70-year-old hand-delivered the cards on his two-meter high penny-farthing bicycle, which is just one of his many vintage bikes.

John and his wife Margaret have been members of the Midland Section of The Veteran Cycle Club who meet in Birmingham once a month.

John grew up in Cradley Heath and was interested in vintage motorbikes until friends asked him to go on a bike ride one day.

Since then John has collected and renovated vintage bikes and owns 40, which are spread around the homes of his family and friends.

However, he keeps his oldest bikes at his Dudley home and can regularly be seen out riding on his boneshaker or penny-farthing.
