A museum dedicated to Kidderminster's carpet-making heritage has been hit by the recession, leaving the £1.7 million development unlikely to open before 2012 - a year late.

Kidderminster Carpet Museum Trust today said the delay had been caused by difficulties finding funding.

Although it is hoped the majority will be provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the trust will still to need to raise £557,000.
