Police seized the drug mephedrone - also know as meow-meow - on a raid in Bewdley.

A man was arrested after officers executed a warrant after information that the drug mephedrone was being dealt from the premises, in Load Street.

Officers say mephedrone was recovered along with ecstasy tablets and dried cannabis bush. One man, believed to be in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of drug offences and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Chris Aimes said: "This was a significant result, especially considering that mephadrone is now officially an illegal substance, having been recategorised as a Class B drug from Friday.

"While the full effects of mephadrone on humans are still to be established, we do know that this drug is not welcome in Bewdley and we will continue to do all that we can to disrupt the supply of this and other drugs."
