A second drugs farm has been found in a network of Dudley town centre cellars where police yesterday discovered a cannabis factory and a pirate radio station.
The latest find included more than 100 cannabis plants and several thousand pounds of hydroponics equipment stored behind a massive metal door.
It follows a major operation launched yesterday where more than 20 officers used battering rams to enter the disused building in Dudley's Upper High Street.
Sergeant James Harrison, who lead the operation, said: "You would think because the two factories are so close together they are linked but at this moment in time we're not jumping to any conclusions.
"The second factory is a great deal more sophisticated using more technology and somewhat larger than the first which suggests it may belong to two different groups.
"It was also hidden behind a highly protective door which took us more than two hours to get through. Whoever set it up didn't want it being found, that's for sure."
Before the second find, police had already discovered a cannabis factory with 62 plants being grown in pots. A pirate radio station was found in another section.
Meanwhile. more than 200 cannabis plants have been seized by police in a raid at a disused industrial unit in Kidderminster. Detectives and beat officers swooped at Churchfields Industrial Estate yesterday.
One man was arrested nearby on suspicion of being involved in the production of cannabis and taken to Kidderminster Police Station for questioning. He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
