A BMW driver was airlifted to hospital after her car collided with a lorry in Wolverhampton.

Lower Street in Tettenhall was closed for an hour following the crash to allow the air ambulance to land in the road.

The woman was cut free from her car by firefighters before being flown to Selly Oak Hospital, Birmingham, with suspected pelvic and spinal injuries.

The crash happened at 4.15pm on Saturday. The lorry driver was not injured.
