Snow will be making a return to the West Midlands by the end of the week, forecasters predicted today.

The fresh blast of wintry weather will also see temperatures drop to 4C (39F).

Met Office forecaster Bob Syvret said: "There will be some snow in the West Midlands towards the end of the week, probably starting on Wednesday, but it's not going to be sticking much.

"It is unlikely it is going to cause any major problems."

The arrival of British Summer Time brought wet and windy weather, with snow falling in some parts of the country today.

Snow fell in the far north of Scotland and temperatures dropped to freezing in Glencoe.

The country has seen mild temperatures for the best part of 10 days. The highest reading of the year so far was 18C (64F) in Norfolk on March 18.
